Traffic Management Plan – Mrieħel
THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT FOUNDATION IN COLLABORATION WITH TRANSPORT MALTA ORGANISED A CONSULTATION AND INFORMATION SESSION ON THE 5TH APRIL 2018 AT THE BKARA LOCAL COUNCIL WITH RESPECT TO THE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLAN IN MRIEHEL
Following the circulation of the draft plan the Foundation received very positive feedback from employers, employees and customers with suggestions that Transport Malta reviewed and adopted accordingly. As said previously we believe that there is nobody better positioned to offer feedback than the operators themselves.
The design of the Traffic Management Plan is now completed and Transport Malta will shortly engage a contractor in order to install the signage and road markings required. The completion of works is expected to take between 6 to 8 weeks.
Our tentative date to implement this Traffic Management Plan has shifted from July to September 2018 because of other priority projects currently being undertaken by Transport Malta. Despite the delay, we still intend to have TM Enforcement Officers on site to guide and educate motorist on the new plan during the first few weeks of implementation.
The Foundation is working with the authorities to have permanent officers on site to educate and enforce the area in order to have a more organised traffic management system in Mriehel.
Finally the Foundation, together with Transport Malta, would like to thank you for your co-operation.

Data shows that the waste collected is increasing and therefore the Foundation has tasked AIS Environmental to carry out a Waste Management Strategy for Imriehel.

Following this study the Foundation will start working on a cost model in order to plan a systematic holistic waste management system with the principal focus being the recovery of materials for recycling.
Zoning and Mapping Central Business District
As part of our branding and infrastructural upgrading works programme, we are presently in the process of designing a user-friendly graphical map of the Central Business District using five colour coded zones to facilitate ease of use and clarity for residents, users and visitors. The same colour coding is also being used in designs of signage and other on-street furniture so that way finding can be facilitated when driving through the area.
