First phase: Installation of LED lighting

Over 3 years, CBDF has funded a project with Enemalta to overhaul street lighting to LED. This project has seen the increase in number of street-lamps from less than 200 lamps to over 400 street-lamps.

Second Phase: a manual based street-lighting program manager reporting system

• Manual intervention required
• Physical onsite inspection of Streetlamp
• Requires inputting of date
• Faults reporting  through the  reporting SLPM software.
• Tracking of Status from the Job Number generated by the SLPM software.

Third Phase: Auto Reporting System

• The installation of intelligent nodes to each street-lamp to be able to monitor and control remotely.
• Innovative system – first in Malta
• Smart system – a number of enhancements like timing of individual lamps, adjusting lumens according to traffic flow, auto reporting of faults.
• Operated through a username and password from any device.
• Continues to reduce the impact of CO2 emitted by the CBD.
• Another project done in collaboration with Enemalta.
