Waste Collection

A key initiative of the Foundation involves organizing efficient waste collection programs, which include dedicated recycling initiatives to support environmental sustainability. Continuous efforts are made to maintain cleanliness across the district, while also promoting eco-conscious practices among businesses and visitors to foster a greener, more sustainable urban environment.  

A waste collection service provided by Clean Malta and funded by the Foundation  is available daily from Monday to Saturday and the type of waste to be disposed is according to the daily National schedule.  On Sunday, when the District is much more quitter, the Foundation provides a sweeping service.

It is to be noted that the service provided by the Foundation is over and above that which needs to be done by each and every business operator who are obliged by Law to organize their own private collection. CCTV cameras have also been installed in strategic places to monitor and deter illegal dumping and placing of waste outside the designated hours specified by law. It is also important to note that the Foundation does not provide a bulky refuse service.
