The Mrieħel Enterprise Zone Foundation was established by means of a public deed entered into on 3rd March 2016. This deed was entered into by the Government and 18 private sector participants. This deed allows the Board of Administrators to issue Scheme Rules to allow further private sector participants to join the Foundation.

At present Mriehel has no structured service for waste collection. The Foundation is holding discussions with the Directorate of Cleansing in order to pilot a project that can better service the business community. This project will help to identify and categorise the type and quantity, in weight of waste produced within the zone, together with all related costs. Details of this pilot project will be announced in future newsletters.

The Mrieħel Enterprise Zone Foundation (MEZF) was officially established by the Prime Minister in March 2016. Investment in Mrieħel, both current and future, is not being sustained by the overall state of the area, which leaves much to be desired, therefore MEZF, a public private partnership is tasked to formulate and implement a vision for Mrieħel and also establishing immediate and long-term priorities that need to be addressed.
