Mriehel slopes downwards 25m from north to south, that is, from Notabile Road adjacent to Birkirkara down to the Mriehel bypass adjacent to Qormi. No wonder, therefore, that the south side of Mriehel is susceptible to flooding during heavy downpours. The Foundation has received various complaints on this topic especially from employees working around the area at the bottom of Triq San Gwakkin.

March 2017 – Issue 06

The investment of €330,000 was carried out over a series of late afternoons to minimise traffic congestion. In total 2,042 tonnes of tarmac was used and the area re-surfaced is circa 4,272 square metres.

February 2017 – Issue 05

The first Annual General Meeting of the Imrieħel Enterprise Zone Foundation was held on the 15th of February 2017. Mr Louis Farrugia was nominated and seconded as Chair of the meeting.

Mriehel Enterprise Zone is not included in any waste collection service. In fact, the large operators in the area generally make independent arrangements. The absence of a waste collection system in Mriehel creates multiple challenges. Small and medium businesses operating within Mriehel, generate a regular and consistent amount of waste.
