TRIDENT ESTATES PLC CONTRIBUTED €363,000 EUROS FOR THE REGENERATION OF A STRETCH OF DERELICT LAND ON MDINA ROAD AND ADJACENT TO THE LISTED 17TH CENTURY WIGNACOURT AQUADUCT. THIS CONTRIBUTION FORMED PART OF THE PLANNING GAIN THAT TRIDENT ESTATES PLC HAD TO PAY TO THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT (“CBD”) IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE TRIDENT PARK DEVELOPMENT PERMIT.

The implementation of the project was assigned to the CBD and the project was completed in May 2019.

The project transformed 6,000 square meters into a garden for recreational purposes. The garden includes outdoor playground and gym facilities for the well-being of children and adults alike. The project was designed to be enjoyed by residents living in Birkirkara as well as employees working within the CBD.

In total, 15 indigenous trees were planted to complement the existing landscape. Although financed by Trident Estates plc through the CBD, the garden will be administered
by the B’Kara Local Council for its day-to-day upkeep.

The garden was inaugurated on 10th May 2019 by Minister Chris Cardona flanked by Mayor Joanne Debono Grech. Both the Minister and the Mayor thanked Trident Estates plc and Malta Industrial Parks for its contribution to the CBD and augured that the recreational space be enjoyed by the public for the well-being of many.

Trident Estates plc Guarantees that the investment it is currently making within the CBD will lead to a marked improvement in the area. The project is a landmark redevelopment of the iconic Farsons brewery heritage site into an international Grade A green office campus. The Trident Business Park is designed with environmental sustainability
and the wellness of the employees working in it in mind. Through the significant contribution it has made to the garden, Trident has registered its ongoing commitment for the betterment of the CBD.
